My son got it within a week of turning 2.5 (go without pants for a couple of days) and my daughter got peeing down to a science within a couple of days with no diaper. It can be tough, but it's not as bad as you might think. It's just going to take a while for her to get used to the requirements and flow of things. One thing that...Good luck with the potty training. One thing that really works is go for the undies cold turkey. With diapers and pull ups - it absorbs too much. The undies they can feel the wetness and with a few accidents - get it under control. Just be prepared to wipe up puddles.
