In my house the best part of Halloween isn't the candy that I make my daughter collect for me from the neighbors - it’s the pumpkin carving.
And then it’s the candy, which is closely followed by black vodka martini’s the wife and I drink with the neighbors on Halloween night.
Every year I attempt to create some new ideas to outdo the Colonel Sanders pumpkin created a few years back.
The stencils below are my current efforts.
I haven't decided which to use this Halloween, but just like last year I’m posting the stencils for anybody to use this Halloween.
I just ask that these be used non-commercially and not to be reposted anywhere else.

Black Martini Cocktail Recipe
And a treat for us deserving adults, the best Halloween cocktail ever invented: the Black Martini Cocktail.
Use Blavod black colored vodka.
- 3 1/2 oz gin or vodka
- 1/2 oz blackberry brandy or black raspberry liqueur
- lemon twist or black olive for garnish
Almost makes me wanna celebrate Halloween. 'Cept we don't down here in Oz.
ReplyDeleteSo Dude, I want a Lionel Richie nativity scene for Christmas. Can you get on that?
Darn, I could have used that Jack Skellington template last night, before I painted the faces on the girls Halloween shirts. I couldn't find the template we used last year on our Skellington jack o'lantern.
ReplyDeleteLovely looking cocktails. Oh the stencils are nice, too, of course. But the cocktails... Note to self: Probably shouldn't fix a drink before carving me thinks.
ReplyDeleteThat sound you here is me running out the door, gunning it down the street, and slapping my money down to buy more pumpkins because OMG, those stencils made me laugh out loud and I will, if necessary, fight my kids for the right to do as I see fit to the massacre of the ghourd!
ReplyDeleteGreat stencils!
ReplyDeletethanks. if I'm feeling really ambitious before this weekends pumpkin carving contest at MQ's school picnic I may try to do the cinderella one, because that would please my daughter beyond all reason.
ReplyDeleteFun post!
ReplyDelete~AirmanMom returning to her blog...
holy awesome, batman!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like that vidka should taste like ouzo. Weird.
ReplyDeleteAnd again, LOVING the pumpkins! Can't wait to see what you do this year. Lionel has me cracking up, and I'm seriously tempted to use Jack.
So hard to pick a favorite, but I think it's gotta be Lionel...
ReplyDeleteTOTALLY stealing the Jack Skellington... my almost 3 year old is OBSESSED with him, and the one YOU have is better than the one IS came up with, sooooo....
ReplyDeleteIf you're up north of Chicago in a week or so... just look for the glowing face of the Pumpkin King!!
=P
Love the stencils! With the strengthening collision each year of the holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas decor on top of each other, I offer this, Santa stencil (softspot for Coca Cola Santa). Would that be TOO edgy? Does that cross the line-I don't know but we may as well make the leap, that's where we are headed...oh and dress up as Santa for your costume. I also like Ugly Betty.....
ReplyDeleteYour fasincation with KFC is truely distrubing.......
ReplyDeleteThat black martini recipe looks good. I wonder if KFC is going to sell some blacken chicken? Hey, why don't you lobby for that? They must have known you PERSONALLY by now, lol :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the gary coleman one! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteThose black martini cocktails look pretty good too.
Frick! Not Hallowe'en in Oz? That bites.
ReplyDeleteYour stencils are pretty rocking though. I'm not sure if anyone has ever pointed this out though...you have a bit of an obsession with, um, er, martinis. (You thought I was going to say the Colonel, didn't you?)
Awesome stencils. My husband has a special bag of candy set just aside for uncostumed teenagers - it involves pennies or these weird Mexican candy drops that we've had for oh, ten years now. You don't want to eat them.
ReplyDeleteLove the stencils! And I will be using the Jack Skellington one, thanks. You're damn talented!
ReplyDelete... A Sarah Palin-O-Lantern might be nice...
ReplyDeleteWord Varification: qqnsh, the sound a Sarah Palin pumpkin would make when inevitably smashed.
I usually drink with the next-door neighbour on Halloween night, too.
ReplyDeleteShe's Lithuanian and makes these strange cocktails that involve some sort of booze with weeds in the bottle.
May I suggest a Kitt stencil or The Colonel dancing on the ceiling or Joe Elliot holding a drumstick?
ReplyDeleteBennie -- OR Joe Elliot singing into a drumstick...
ReplyDeleteBeck -- That's a great idea. Now I need to find some old candy.
The Lionel Ritchie mothers day card was a huge hit with the two friends I gave it to. I guess the Lionel pumpkin is the logical next step...
ReplyDeleteI guess a Dick Cheney pumpkin would be too scary...
ReplyDeletehow 'bout Pumpcula? (a pumpkin dracula)
At first glance, I thought Lionel Richie was Mr. Kotter.
ReplyDeleteSince Halloween is on a Friday this year, there is a pretty good chance I'll be consuming something resembling your black martini!
ReplyDeleteThat should definitely make the night more interesting! :) Happy Halloween!
I miss celebrating Halloween the adult way. We had some killer parties back in the day in "bk" time (before kids). Now we just place bets on who will fall asleep first watching "Ghost Hunters".
ReplyDeleteKristen -- We miss it sometimes too. But it's too much trouble these days. I'm really enjoying our new way of celebrating these days.
ReplyDeletevery nice blog some how i found you looking for things on our sons birth defect esophageal atresia. i wish you the best.
ReplyDeletenice work, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Seems like I can never have enough templates to choose from but every year people are putting more and more online.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the stencil ideas! Here's a link to Lionel...
