Mother’s Day Coloring Pages That You Won’t Find Anywhere Else

My daughter and I are getting ready for the upcoming mothers day festivities this weekend. We had gone shopping to get a little something for the wife and my daughter picked out some interesting “gifts” for mommy - Lego Blocks, a Power Ranger, a Doll bed...
Basically a bunch of toys that she wanted.

Anyhow, I won’t mention what we got her just yet, but I thought since my daughter loves to color I should make some coloring pages to go along with it.
She, like other 2-year olds her age, wanted to color pictures of Elmo, Butterflies, Unicorns, etc. But I wanted to be a little more unique, so I came up with these:

Lionel Richie: "You’re Once, Twice, Three Times a Lady – Happy Mother’s Day!"

Sophia and Dorothy: "Happy Mother’s Day, Ma!"

Elmo's Mother's Day Unicorn and Butterfly Birthday Party Fantasy

(Feel free to use for Mother’s Day. Click to download)

Can you guess which my daughter chose to give mommy?

One day way back when, Julia was sick and she and Dave spent the afternoon colouring while I was out somewhere. I came home and found a picture of BA Baracus taped to the fridge, coloured up all pretty by father and daughter. Dave had gone online and downloaded some colouring pages, and couldn't pass up the one with Mr. T pointing, giving his cold, hardass stare. Across the top of the page he'd written, in red crayon, I PITY THE FOOL!

I like the Lionel Richie one best.

I've just downloaded the Lionel coloring page. I'm going to color it myself and proudly display it on the fridge - just as a subtle reminder.

And because it's hilarious.

I just pray it wasn't the Lionel Richie one. She would be a Nicole Richie in training if that were the case.

lotus07 -- definitely the Elmo one...

Unicorns, butterflies, Elmo - Lionel's mustache doesn't stand a chance!

Brian -- You must be listening to "Ballerina Girl" while reading, right?

mamatulip -- That's awesome! I actually considered doing a "T" one that said "Mr. T says: Today, no drama for mama!"

That Lionel Ritchie coloring page looks like like that creepy sculpture of him in the "Hello" video. That man has a giant head if I ever saw one.

Man, I can't decide. The Lionel Richie one made me dance on the ceiling, but the Golden Girls one made me want to eat ice cream and cheesecake and talk about the good ol' days back in St. Olaf. What's a girl to do?

Good thing I have TWO kids. I'll print them both out and get them to work. Thanks, CTD!

Lionel Richie, no doubt!

But, dude? No MD wishes from Colonel Sanders?

Is it just me, or wouldn't it be creepy to have Lionel Richie staring at my backside from the fridge as I wash dishes? I'll opt for the rainbows and Elmo, thanks very much.

Your colouring pages are the most awesome. I love them! And Pumkinpie would totally love the rainbow unicorn butterfly one.

Coal Miner's Granddaughter -- I hope you didn't get any on his mustache!

That would be a tragedy.

Steph in AK -- Yes! I know. I had a great idea for one, but this is for the wife. If I mention KFC to her one more time, she might shoot me (again)

pixie - I think you meant to say -- hear Sophia's stories about Sicily. Now if Rose had been present...

imaginary binky -- YES!!! It is! I think you deserve a prize.

Question, how bummed are you that LR's hair is already colored in for you?

Oh, I hope my kids color an "Ab Fab" one for me! But I already asked them to let me sleep all day, so I'm really hoping to get that instead.

Are we brits allowed to join in and pretend it's Mother's Day again? We already had ours.

One year I had two official ones as we were on vacation in the US for yours - so of course I had to have a special day there too!

Hmm - I too wanted an A-Team selection .. but from reading the comments, I see i'm not alone.

How come no-one ever wants a "Moonlighting" Mother's Day Card ?

Is it because Cybill in soft-focus is too grainy to colour ?

3:10 AM
Blogger creative-type dad said...

godless Sunday -- Yes, I know. And I just realized between his hair and mustache, people will probably need to refill their ink.

h&b -- Not sure how many moms are into Cybill, or were into her. I think a BA Baracus one is much more fitting.

radioactive girl -- Absolutely!

She's a HUGE Lionel Richie fan. So much in fact that I might have to grow a mustache and buy a piano and ascot.

Ron -- Sure, I'm sure Dorothy wouldn't mind.

carrie -- Yes, she was spoiled. Breakfast at IHOP, a trip to the beach, and shopping for 3 hours.
My feet are killing me...
