I can’t believe it's been two years since I started this here “blog” – where’d the time go? Back then my daughter was 3 weeks old and I was still getting used to being “a parent”, “someone’s dad”, “old?”
It’s funny how things work; I originally had no intention of starting a blog, I read a few but that’s about it. I set up a blogger account to help a writer friend set up his and just started writing random stuff - I posted here and there, but nothing I thought anybody would actually read.
Somehow it evolved as I wrote more about my life as a dad, started reading other parents, people reacted, and my original 10 visitors a day grew (to 20…!)
I think I found “my blog voice” when I hit a bunny on the road with my daughter in the car (you can read that here.)
I’m not sure how many of you have thought about this-- but when do you stop? How long do you blog? Do we stop when our kids find out we write about them, their friends find out, and they’re embarrassed? Or maybe when they leave for college? Or when grandkids show up?
I'm not entirely sure... maybe it stops when it ceases to be fun.

Happy blogaversary!
I'm excited about the highlights since I just found you -- now if you'll excuse me, I have some reading to do... :-)
Happy blogavesary, dude!
Happy blogaversary! I've thought about when to stop too. I'm sure a 15 year-old girl won't want her dad blogging about the cutest thing she just did or said (if they're even cute by that point) so it'll be sometime before then I suspect.
Congrats! Considering that the average blog lasts only two MONTHS, the fact that you made it to two YEARS is something to celebrate!
Happy blogaversary to you!!! I've only been at it for a little over a year. But seriously....does it really ever have to stop?
Happy birthday Blog Man!
I hear you on the quitting thing. I've wondered that myself. I find that I go thru phases. Sometimes I blog multiple times a day, other times it's a struggle to post once a week.
The idea of quitting fills me with a weird loneliness. Like I'll be cut off from the world or something...
Happy Blogaversary! Keep the hits coming. I've been on a 'blogging slowdown' lately. I guess I don't find myself as interesting as i used to. I think you have a great voice as one of the few online dad's blogging about being a dad and a family man. There are lots of 'mommy-bloggers' out there, but not so much the dads.
Happy happy. okay, is that one you? If so, I might just come to your party. It looks like that dude knows how to build a kickass cake.
Here's to many more.
Happy Anniversary!
Happy 2 year Blog'oversary.
Congrats! For me, I can't imagine every stopping. For some reason, I am always able to find an hour to pound out a blog post or two, and if nothing else, it really helps me wrap my head around what I am trying to be as a father.
Regarding finding your blog voice, I completely agree that it will just happen when you least expect it. I am not sure I have found mine, as my blogging isn't really how I would explain the events if I were speaking to someone, but who knows.

The time sure flies by. Happy Blogday Tony!
Happy blogaversary!
Happy blogaversary! I enjoyed reading about how your child saw you pee. I, too, am prone to public urination. Usually on mailboxes and lampposts.
Congrats. But is your blog potty-trained yet?
Congrats on being 2!
of course the full onset of the terrible twos has yet to hit but we will persevere with you...
of course a side of KFC Cole Slaw would not hurt any...
Very cool! Congrats! My first year will be up in September. Time does fly.
Where does it end? It's hard to say, I think... when you run out of time to post, maybe. Or, when you die.
Keep in mind, too much KFC will help the latter factor.
How exciting! Happy blogaversary!
Happy blog birthday, my friend!
Happy blogaversary! I'll have to go read the hitting the bunny blog. I ran over a woodchuck the other day and watched it pull it's maimed body and hind legs off the freeway. It was very sad.
Your blog is honest, funny, a good read, I enjoy it now, and will continue to enjoy for all the years to come :)
Ta da! Here's a cake in honor of your blogaversary. I hope you blog until your fingers are too arthritic to find the keyboard. (not that I wish you arthritis or old age before your time, mind you)
Cheers, Tony!
Congrats.
I used to have a blog that I kept for a total of 3-4 years. I obviously still have an blogger id so I can leave comments here and there as there are blogs I read sporadically. I stopped because it started to bother me that I would enjoy a moment in life and then at that same moment I'd think, "I should put this on my blog." There was just something weird about that to me. I wonder if anyone else had had similar thoughts...
Congrats, Creative-Type! That's quite an accomplishment!
Ryan -- I'm almost the same way. I enjoy the moment and then want to share it later.
It also helps me by writing it down, while going through the archives, making this list, reading what I wrote was quite interesting. I'm sure down the line I'll be happy to have written moments down.
Wow, two years is impressive. I just hit the 200-post mark and thought I was all that and a bag of chips.
Well, it gives me something to aim for.
I hope you scored a bucket of KFC to celebrate. kudos to you on 2 years of comic relief and witty wisdom.
